What is it?

Some types of website integration use Spektrix to handle their content management for their Events. This gets handled in the 'Website Content' tab of the event.

This needs to be set up for all Supplementary Events. This also needs to be set for websites which do not have a separate CMS for Events.

How do I set it up?

To add Website content for an Event, go to Admin > Events and then find the Event in question and click on it. Click 'Website' from the left and then 'Edit'.

Once in edit mode, you will be presented with Wikitext Formatting help on the right. Refer to this to create content with the styling that you want.

Once you have finished inputting your content, click 'Preview' to see how it will appear online.

If you have made any Wikitext formatting errors, Spektrix will highlight them to you and you will need to make changes before you can view the preview.

Once you are happy with your Website Content, click 'Save'.

If the item in question is already on sale your website will be update immediately with the changes.

Wikitext Examples:

+ExampleText – would make 'ExampleText' a Title on your website.

++ExampleText – would make 'ExampleText' a Subtitle on your website.

*ExampleText* - would make 'ExampleText' bold on your website.

The text will inherit the styling of other Spektrix iframes - your site will already know how 'Title' or 'Bold' text should appear based upon the CSS made by your web designers.

When using Wikitext, if you ever want to use a non-alphanumeric character in your content (such as @ or -) then you will need to put a backslash ('\') in front of that symbol.

Frequently Asked Questions (Events)

What does the Web URL field do?

This is URL for the Event on your website.

This is essential to make cross selling work neatly - this field powers the recommended event links that are presented to the customer in the basket.

What does the 'Event ID' field do?

Some web integrations may require you to share a unique ID between the event on Spektrix and the website entry for the event in your CMS.

If you're not sure whether you need to set an EventID you can contact Spektrix support or your web developer.

In the formatting help, there is the option to 'ShowImage' or 'ShowThumbnail'. Where does Spektrix get these images from?

In the Basic Details of Events you can upload an image.

This image has to be a JPEG and cannot be bigger than 4MB.

Spektrix will then use that image when you use 'ShowImage' or 'ShowThumbnail' in your WikiText.

An image and Thumbnail has a set width in Pixels. If you want us to change that width dimension, please contact the Support Team.

What do 'Tweet from checkout' and 'Post to Facebook from checkout' mean?

Have a look here for Twitter and here for Facebook.
