FAQs - Setting Up Fundraising Using The Opportunities Interface

The core Spektrix system provides a lot of functionality suitable for fundraising purposes, however if your organisation manages major giving from individuals and organisations then you might want to consider using the extra functionality provided by Spektrix’s Opportunities Interface.

First though, it’s worth making sure you’re already using the fundraising capabilities already available in Spektrix.

Here are some highlights of what you can do within the core system:

  • Take donations through all sales channels.
  • Set up multiple Funds to manage incoming donations - these can be set to appear based on the items in the customer basket. The suggested donation value can also be set to increase as the value of the customer basket increases.
  • Segment your customer data to identify potential donors by looking at purchase history and demographic information.
  • Document relationships between donors within your database.
  • For UK users, track and claim Gift Aid on all eligible donations.

How much does it cost?
The cost for using the Opportunities Interface will depend on the pricing plan your organisation is on; some plans include the use of the Opportunities interface, while others do not. You’ll find details of your pricing plan included in your Spektrix agreement, while you can also get in touch us and we’lll be happy to explain how it works for your plan.

Are there any set up costs?
No, there are no costs attached to getting set up with the Opportunities Interface.

How long until we can start using it?
As per your initial go-live, you will be provided with a Project Manager who will take you through the process of getting up and running with the Opportunities Interface, including any training required. The complexity of the project will inform the timeframe, such as the amount of data that you want to migrate into the Opportunities Interface.

How does it link with the rest of the system?
You still access exactly the same database as with your sales and marketing activity, the Opportunities Interface just gives you greater functionality.

What data can you bring over from our current system?
This will depend on the way the data is stored in your current system, but it is usually possible to import donor data and donation history.
