Restricting Payments through the Sales Interface by IP Address

November 2021: Our IP addresses are moving to be hosted by Azure. If you use IP address authorisation for payments, please add in the additional IP address 20.82.82.174

The payments processing DNS is also changing to https://pay.spektrix.com

This means that if your organisation's network restricts internet access by authorising IP addresses, MOTO/phone payments in the box office may be affected. In particular, if you tend to have issues with firewalls for example, or if you’ve been in touch with us about IP authorising before, read on.

What do you need to do?

We recommend moving away from restricting internet access by authorising IP addresses.

If authorisation is required by your IT team, we recommend authorising by DNS. Authorising .spektrix.com will ensure the current payment platforms (payments.spektrix.com and pay.spektrix.com operate successfully now and in the future).

If you rely on authorising IP addresses to process payments, you will need to pass on this article and ask your IT team to add in additional IP address exceptions for 34.253.243.177 and 54.77.106.26 and 20.82.82.174 to the authorised list.

If this isn't done and you rely on authorising IP addresses to process payments, you will see a browser error or a spinning circle in place of the usual card details form when processing a MOTO/phone payment.

What about the future, will this happen again?
It’s worth noting that, unlike the IP addresses for the main system (system.spektrix.com), the payments IP addresses could change again in the future. Therefore, we recommend using this as an opportunity to discuss with your IT team moving away from restricting internet access by authorising IP addresses in the future, in favour of authorising by DNS.

If the IP addresses do change again in the future, you or your IT team can always find out the latest addresses to add into the authorised list by opening a cmd.exe window via the computer's start menu and typing:  nslookup pay.spektrix.com

If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to get in touch with the Spektrix Support team, who will be happy to help.
