Spektrix System Training Options - US and Canada

Whether you’ve just joined Spektrix or you’re looking for a refresher, we’ve got a variety of training options and resources to make sure you get the training you need. 

Below you’ll find several types of training resources as well as links to register for training where necessary. If you’re not sure what kind of training you’ll need, reach out to your Project Manager or our Support team and we’ll point you in the right direction.

 

Multi-Client System Training

Primarily aimed at users in the US and Canada, these sessions are held across a three day period beginning the second Tuesday of each month. Each day consists of 2-3 sessions that users are welcome to attend in part or in full. New and experienced users alike are welcome to join the instructor-led sessions, and are encouraged to follow along in their own systems or the provided practice system. To register for upcoming Multi Client sessions, please complete a Spektrix System Training Registration form.

Overview of the sessions.    

    1. Kickoff & Getting Started 12:00pm-12:30pm EDT (30 mins)

    3. User & Event Setup 12:30pm-3:00pm EDT (2.5 hours)


      We'll start by walking through everything you'll need to know to create an event in your system - pricing information, seating charts, and so forth - as well as talk about setting up access for your team within your Spektrix system. This session builds on concepts introduced in the first system orientation session and is recommended for box office manager(s) and anyone who will be building or editing event information.

    5. Customer Relationship Management 3:30pm-5:00pm EDT (1.5 hours)


      We'll talk through how Customer logic works in Spektrix and walk through the different ways you can construct a relationship model that makes sense for the needs of your organization using tools like tags and customized information fields. This session builds on concepts introduced in the second system orientation session and is recommended for marketing, audience services, and development.

    1. Customer Eligibility & Offers 12:00pm 2:00pm EDT (2 hours)


      Spektrix uses a concept called Offers to power discounts and other pricing options; this session will discuss what an Offer is and how it works. We’ll also look at how Spektrix can grant customers access to other special benefits in the system based on the customer relationship management structure you’ve set up. Recommended for anyone who is involved in Ticket pricing and donor/member benefit fulfilment.

    3. Sales 2:30pm-4:30pm EDT (2 hours)


      We’ll talk about all the different ways you can process transactions within the Sales environment, including making sales, performing returns, exchanges, taking reservations, and taking basic donations. We encourage you to practise in the training system or your run system. Recommended for all users.

    5. Reporting (New!) 4:30pm-5:15pm EDT (45 minutes)


      A quick session designed to get you acquainted with the world of reports within Spektrix, including how to find the right report and how to run them.

    2. Fundraising & Opportunities 12pm-2:00pm EDT (2 hours)


      We’ll dig into usage of the Opportunities interface in Spektrix, where you can analyze donor relationships, log cultivation efforts, process pledges, and track event invitations. Recommended for anyone involved in development.

    4. Segmentation 2:30pm-4:00pm EDT (90 minutes)


      We’ll take a look at the tools in Spektrix that can segment customers into different lists, allowing you to perform bulk actions and gain detailed insights into your patrons’ behavior and characteristics. Recommended for all users.

    6. Mailings & Dotdigital 4:30pm-5:30pm EDT (60 mins)


      We’ll review the Dotdigital integration, looking at how Spektrix can be used to power sending scheduled and one-off campaigns. Recommended for anyone who will be sending integrated e-mails or logging physical mailings using Spektrix.

 

Online System Training Webinars

Webinars are held monthly on a variety of topics and are led by members of our Support, Training and Consultancy team. These sessions focus on the general usage of the system, you’ll also have an opportunity to ask some more specific questions if you want.

NOTE: due to the potentially high volume of participants, we use the Zoom webinar platform to deliver these sessions.

    In this session we’ll take a look at the Sales Interface in detail, from basic ticket sales and refunds to crediting a customer’s account or converting a refund into a donation. We’ll tackle payment issues, and what to do if a mistake is made. We’ll show you the tools to add donations, merchandise, vouchers and more to increase your average spend.


    By the end of this session, you will be able to:     

    1. Make a ticket sale through Spektrix
    2. Refund a ticket sale as payment, credit or a donation
    3. Take Donations, sell Gift vouchers and Merchandise
    4. Unpick tricky orders and troubleshoot if needed

    In the first half of this session we will look at reporting in Spektrix - running reports, creating Criteria Sets, and setting up Report Schedules. In the second half we will focus on how to segment your audience using Customer Lists, and how you can use this data both to report on, and target communications to your customer and donor base.

    The first half of this session will cover the basic setup required in order to accept donations, sell memberships, sign customers up to giving schemes and show you how to process gifts in Spektrix. We’ll also briefly cover how to capture Gift Aid declarations and demonstrate how to submit Gift Aid claims from within Spektrix (UK).


    For the second half of the session (for users with the Opportunities Interface) we’ll cover relationship management tools, so you can be sure you’re staying on top of important funding deadlines and recording all touch points with stakeholders. We’ll also make sure you have a basic understanding of key concepts unique to the Opportunities Interface.

    In this session we’ll cover the basics of building an Event in Spektrix, including all of the building blocks you need to have in place to get started. We’ll also demonstrate how to set up Merchandise items and cross-sell these from Events, as well as setting up Funds for donations and incorporating them into your booking path.

    The first half of this session will cover the basics of Dotdigital, including adding users, creating campaigns, and some best practice advice. We’ll then hop over to Spektrix to demonstrate how to set up these campaigns to send automatically using Customer List schedules. We’ll also provide some hints and tips on how to dynamically interact with your customers, donors and audiences

    2. Understand how Dotdigital integrates with Spektrix
    3. Set up and send scheduled and automated emails
