How do I suppress the COBO / Will Call method?
By default, the COBO / Will Call ticket delivery method is always available for all Web Ticket Types and all Instances.
When setting up new Ticket Types, you cannot uncheck the option for COBO / Will Call:
You also cannot uncheck the option for COBO / Will Call for new Instances:
This means online customers will always have the options to select COBO / Will Call.
WARNING: You are unable to suppress COBO / Will Call on a per-Ticket Type or per-Instance basis.
However, you can set your Web Availability settings so that COBO / Will Call is suppressed when possible:
Before you suppress COBO / Will Call consider the following:
- Suppressing COBO / Will Call is a global setting and will affect all Events, Instances and Ticket Types sold on the web
- It is not possible for COBO / Will Call to appear on some Instances and not others
-
If two or more other methods are available, COBO / Will Call still appears as an option but is greyed out and cannot be selected:
TIP: You won’t be able to remove or hide the option Collect my tickets at the box office - Not available for your choice of tickets when two or more other Ticket delivery methods are present.
-
If only one other method is available, COBO / Will Call will not appear as an option and the other option will be enforced:
TIP: You can enforce all online ticket sales to E-ticket delivery by globally suppressing COBO / Will Call.
- If no other methods are available, COBO / Will Call will not be suppressed and will be enforced:
TIP: A Ticket Delivery Method is made available when the Web Ticket Type selected has the method available and the Instance has the method allowed.
To suppress COBO / Will Call for all Events sold online, go to the Admin Interface and follow these steps:
TIP: To access the Admin Interface, you’ll need the General Administrator Role. If you don’t have this Role, ask the Settings Administrator in your organization to add this Role to your User Account.
- Under Pricing > Ticket Types > Web Types > Web Availability, click Edit to make changes.
-
Check the Suppress if possible box under Cobo:
- Click Save to save the changes. You can also click Cancel to discard any changes.
Can I suppress other delivery methods on a per-Instance basis?
It is possible to suppress other delivery methods on a per-Instance basis.
When setting up or editing an Instance, select if the delivery method is allowed for each Instance.
To remove delivery methods from an Instance, follow these steps:
- Go to the Event Instance > Basic Details and click Edit.
-
Uncheck the box for the delivery method:
WARNING: If you uncheck all available methods with COBO / Will Call remaining, even if it's suppressed, COBO / Will Call will always be available.
- Click Save.
Can I suppress other delivery methods globally?
You can also suppress other delivery methods globally so they don't appear as an option on any online orders.
Unlike the Always available option, where they can appear greyed out, even if a method is allowed on an Instance, so long as they are globally suppressed, the method will never appear as an option.
To suppress other delivery methods for all Events sold online, follow these steps:
- Under Pricing > Ticket Types > Web Types > Web Availability, click Edit to make changes.
-
Check the Suppress if possible box next to the other delivery method:
- Click Save to save the changes. You can also click Cancel to discard any changes.
WARNING: If you suppress all delivery methods, COBO / Will Call will always be available.
How do I limit the Delivery Method to E-ticket Only?
You can limit delivery methods for online customers to email delivery (E-tickets and Digital Passes) only. During checkout, Ticket Delivery can enforce the E-ticket method with no other delivery methods available.
Before restricting online sales to E-ticket only, consider the following:
- This requires globally suppressing COBO / Will Call
- Limiting delivery methods to E-ticket only is global and will affect all Events, Instances and Ticket Types sold on the web
- It is not possible for E-ticket and COBO / Will Call to appear together for some Instances and not others
- Other methods can appear with E-ticket in other Instances as long as those methods are available and not globally suppressed
To limit to E-tickets, you must first suppress COBO / Will Call globally.
Then you must set the following. In the Admin Interface > Pricing > Ticket Types:
- E-tickets must be set with no time limit to their web availability
- The E-ticket box is checked for all applicable Web Ticket Types
In each Event Instance:
- Specify a E-ticket Design and E-ticket PDF template
- Check E-ticket Allowed
- If sending Digital Passes, add a Digital Pass Template ID
For more information, read E-tickets.
How do I delay E-ticket delivery?
Sometimes you may not want E-tickets to be available to customers immediately. Delaying E-ticket delivery can mitigate the risk of ticket resale and give you more control over when customers receive their tickets.
If you are choosing to delay E-ticket delivery, you can suppress the E-ticket email at the Instance level.
-
For new Instances: During the Instance Details set up, you can choose to suppress E-ticket delivery emails by unchecking the Send E-ticket email box
- For existing Instances: In the Basic Details tab of the Instance, you can choose to suppress E-ticket delivery by unchecking the Send E-ticket email box
