How to Uninstall a Ticket Printer

When using a Stimare, BOCA, Microcom or Practical Automation ticket printer, there may be occasions where you need to uninstall your printer, for example if the drivers are corrupted or haven’t installed correctly.

This article will guide you through the steps to uninstall printer drivers and remove your printer from Windows.

 

Before you can uninstall your printer, you will need one of the following:

  • Administrator permissions on your PC; or
  • Access to your Administrator Password (ask your IT team); or
  • A member of your IT team to complete the uninstall on your behalf

How to Uninstall a Stimare / BOCA / Practical Automation Printer

There are four main steps to remove and uninstall a Stimare, BOCA or Practical Automation ticket printer:

  1. Remove the printer in Windows Printers & Scanners
  2. Uninstall printer drivers
  3. Remove the printer driver from Device Manager

 

Remove the printer in Windows Printers & Scanners

To remove the printer in Printers & Scanners, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Windows / Start button in your taskbar and type Printers.
  2. In Printers & Scanners, select your printer and click Remove:

 

Uninstall Printer Drivers

To uninstall the printer drivers, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the Windows / Start button and select Installed Apps.
  2. Click the three dots next to your printer software (Stimare in this example) and click Uninstall:

 

Remove the printer driver from Device Manager

To make sure the printer drivers are completely uninstalled, we recommend checking Windows device manager. Follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the Windows / Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Click the View menu at the top and select Show hidden devices.
  3. Expand Printers and Print Queues:

  4. Right-click your printer and select Uninstall device. Check the "Delete the driver software for this device" box if prompted.

 

How to Uninstall a Microcom 485T Ticket Printer

There are five main steps to removing and uninstalling a Microcom ticket printer:

  1. Remove the printer driver from your PC
  2. Remove the printer from Windows Device Manager
  3. Remove the printer driver from Windows installed apps
  4. Delete the printer’s IP address in Windows print server properties
  5. Remove the printer from the Box Office App

 

Remove the printer driver from your PC

Before you begin, you’ll need to download the Microcom x85 Windows printer driver. You can remove the printer driver through the Microcom software.

Once you’ve downloaded and unzipped / extracted the software follow these steps:

  1. In the extracted download, go to the Drivers folder
  2. Right click on Setup and select Run as Administrator
  3. In the Microcom Printer Driver Setup Wizard screen click Next
  4. Select Uninstall the existing driver (RECOMMENDED) and click Next:

  5. Disconnect your printer from your PC and click Next:

  6. After the print driver is uninstalled, you’ll see a screen prompting you to restart your PC. Click OK to restart.

 

Remove the printer from Device Manager

  1. Right-click the Windows / Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Click the View menu at the top and select Show hidden devices.
  3. Expand Printers or Print Queues:

  4. Right-click your printer and select Uninstall device. Check the Delete the driver software for this device box if prompted.

 

Remove the printer driver from Windows installed apps

To remove the printer driver from Windows installed apps, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the Windows / Start button and select Installed Apps
  2. Click the three dots next to Microcom printer drivers and select Uninstall:

  3. Follow the on-screen prompts, clicking Yes or Ok until the drivers have been uninstalled

 

Delete the printer’s IP address in Print Server Properties

If your ticket printer is on a network, you’ll need to remove its IP address from print server properties. Follow these steps:

  1. Click the Windows / Start button in your taskbar and type Printers
  2. Under Related Settings click Print Server Properties:
  3. In the Print Server Properties screen, click on the Ports tab and look for the IP address of your printer
  4. Select your printer and click Delete Port:
