To print tickets, card receipts and address slips you'll need one or more ticket printers. In this article you'll find information on how Ticket Printers work with Spektrix and how to choose ticket printers for your organisation.

Finally, you'll find links to other Support Centre articles to help you install, configure and troubleshoot your Ticket Printers.

How Ticket Printers connect to Spektrix

Ticket Printers connect to Spektrix through the Spektrix Box Office App. As Spektrix is a cloud based system, the Box Office App is installed locally and enables hardware to communicate with your system.

You'll need to install the Box Office App on all PCs that have a USB connection to a ticket printer. After you have installed the Box Office App, you will need to add your printer to the App.

TIP: After you add Ticket Printers to The Box Office App, they will be available across your organisation and anyone can print to them from Spektrix. You'll need to ensure the Box Office App is running on the PC the printer is connected to.

How to choose a Ticket Printer

You can connect a range of Ticket Printers to Spektrix. Most organisations choose BOCA (US and Canada) / BOCA (UK and Ireland) or Stimare printers.

TIP: All Ticket Printers in this article use thermal printing. This means that rather than using ink, they use heat to print onto the surface of tickets.

BOCA Ticket Printers

The BOCA printers most widely chosen by Spektrix Users are the Lemur X and Lemur C and Lemur printers.

  • The BOCA Lemur X printer is the smaller of the printers measuring 10.2cm in height, 11.1cm in width and 12.6cm in length. It has a printing speed of up to 25.0cm per second.

Stimare Ticket Printers

All Stimare Thermal Desktop Ticket Printers work with Spektrix. The printers you can order through Spektrix are the Stimare SML 200 DPI, Stimare CLS 200 DPI and 300 DPI.

  • The Stimare SML 200 DPI is the smallest of the Stimare thermal printers. Measuring 8.7cm H x 13.4cm W x 11.9cm L. The printer is designed for use where space is limited.

TIP: All Ticket Printers can print barcodes for use with Ticket Scanners. Stimare Ticket Printers can also print QR codes. BOCA Lemur Printers can print QR codes in Generic mode, but not using FGL. For more information on using QR codes and barcodes, read The Ticket Design Tool.
