The Website Admin Interface is the section of your Spektrix system where you can configure settings related to your website and our integration tools: iframes, API, and Web Components.

It’s also where you can configure settings when integrating multiple websites with your system.

Before getting started, you might want to take a look at:

What can you do in the Website Admin Interface?

The Website Admin Interface is used to configure how your Spektrix system is integrated with your website.

In the Website Admin Interface, you can:

TIP: In order to navigate to and access the Website Admin Interface you’ll need the Web Integration Administrator role. If you don’t have this User Role, contact a Settings Administrator in your organisation to edit your User Account and add the Web Integration Administrator role.

How to navigate to the Website Admin Interface

You can find the Website Admin Interface by going to the Control Panel > Website Admin.

When you are in the Website Admin Interface, you’ll see three options:

Resources

The Resources tab is where you can access your CSS file for your iframes.

On this page, you can view and download existing CSS files, or upload new ones onto your system.

Take a look at the article CSS Styling for iframes for step by step instructions on how to upload and manage CSS files.

It is also possible to upload other resources such as files for your fonts.

Config

This section is only relevant for API v.2. configs and shows the v.2. API key.

Domain Specific Config

The Domain Specific Config section is where you can apply settings which relate to your website integration. Regardless of which integration tool you use, you’ll need to set this up to complete your website integration with Spektrix.

Every domain of every website that integrates with your system will need to be listed and have its integration settings configured here.

The first time you set up a new website integration, you’ll need to add a new Domain Specific Config.

You‘ll also need to add a new Domain Specific Config if you want to set up multiple websites, if your website is hosted under a new domain or if you are setting up a new Spektrix Link website.

TIP: If you are setting up a Custom Domain, you’ll need to complete the Domain Specific Config set up for your new domain to be linked.

Domain Specific Config for Multiple Websites

It’s possible to embed iframes on multiple websites.

Under Domain Specific Config you can toggle between settings for multiple websites by selecting the domain you want to update from the list on the left.

Some examples of why you might want to integrate multiple subdomains with your Spektrix system include:

  • To create a festival website alongside your main website.
  • To set up a testing environment for testing changes to your website.
  • To run multiple websites for multiple venues, all selling tickets from the same Spektrix system.

How to set up a new Domain Specific Config

To set up a new Domain Specific Config, click the Add new Config button.

Next, enter your domain string of your website to complete the Domain Configuration.

  • The domain string is the first part of the URL of your website. For example, if your website URL is www.mywebsite.com then your domain string would be mywebsite.com. The domain string can include subdomains, for example tickets.mywebsite.com.

You’ll then need to complete the following required fields for each of the domains you set up:

  • Default Style Sheet
  • My Account Link
  • Checkout Link
  • Account Login Link
  • Website Javascript options

REMINDER: You may need to speak to your Website Developer to find the information you’ll need to apply. Guidance for developers can be found on our Integrate Portal.

Default Style Sheet

Under the Default Style Sheet section, you can see the full list of the stylesheets which you have uploaded in the Resources menu.

The Default Style Sheet option must be selected here for the styling to apply to your iframes. You can find step by step instructions in CSS Styling for iframes,

Checkout Link

A Checkout Link is required for your website integration set up.

Enter the URL of the Checkout page on your website and click Save.

My Account Link

A My Account Link is required for your website integration set up.

Enter the URL of the My Account page on your website and click Save.

Custom Basket/Cart Link

If you use a Custom Domain, you have the option of adding a Custom Basket/Cart Link

If you leave this field blank, this page will default to the Basket/Cart iframe in the standard iframe flow.

To add a Custom Basket/Cart Link, enter the URL of the page on the website where you have built your Custom Basket/Cart page and click Save.

Account Login Link

An Account Login Link is required for your website integration set up. This may be the same link as your My Account Link. This URL is used in various redirects related to logging in and out.

Enter the URL of the account login page on your website and click Save.

Website Javascript Options

Website Javascript Options let you switch on tools in the iframes that are powered by Javascript. This includes:

  • iframe resizing - This allows the height of the embedded iframe to automatically resize. it affects all embedded iframes on your website. If it is not implemented, you may notice double scroll bars on your website, cut off content, or unnecessary white space at the bottom of your iframes. When your Web Developer is implementing this, they can find guidance on the Integrate Portal on Resizing iframes.
  • View from Seats mode - This feature lets you add images of your venue to your Seating Plan. You can learn more in the article View from a Seat.

Check the boxes to enable iframe resizing (required) or view from seats mode (optional).

Enter the URL of a blank page on your website and click Save.

Event Details URL Template

If your website URLs follow a standard pattern using webeventid or webinstanceid, then you can set a template for this pattern under the Event Details URL Template section.

This means that if a customer clicks on an event page from an iframe, then the customer will be directed to the website Event page rather than the Event iframe.

You can use either the  webeventid or webinstanceid fields to create your template.

For example, if the URL for Hamlet (which has an Event Id of 6584) at your venue is:

Then you would set the template to be:

  • http://www.myvenue.com/shows/{EventId}

REMINDER: Because you set these templates up in the Domain Specific Config section, you can have a custom version for each domain you use.
