How to Override Tickets, Merchandise and Memberships in the Basket / Cart

In this article, we’ll take you through the steps to Override Tickets, Merchandise and Memberships in the Basket / Cart.

TIP: It isn’t possible to Override Donations or Gift Vouchers.

 

What do I need to perform an Override?

When Overriding items in the Basket / Cart, you’ll need the Sales User or Sales Administrator Role on your User Account.

Overrides may be restricted to the Sales Administrator User Role. In this case, a Sales Administrator required pop up will prompt the Sales Administrator to enter their Username and Password to authorise the Override:

How do I Override Tickets, Merchandise and Memberships?

To perform an Override, follow the steps below:

  1. Select your item(s) in the Basket / Cart:

  2. Click the dropdown arrow next to Reserve > Override:

The Override screen will differ depending on the type of item you’re overriding.

Tickets

With Tickets in the Basket / Cart, you can Override:

  • Price
  • Commission
  • Offer
  • Ticket Voucher Used
  • Fixed Series

 

Price

To Override the Ticket Price:

  1. Check the Price box

  2. Enter a price and click OK:

When you Override a Price, a red exclamation mark will be displayed next to the Price in the Basket / Cart:

TIP: To change back to the original price, go into the Override menu, uncheck Price and click OK.

 

Commission

When Overriding Ticket Commission, you can choose whether to charge Commission. It isn’t possible to change the Commission amount.

To remove the Ticket Commission:

  1. Check the Commission box

  2. Uncheck Charge? Click OK:

Ticket Commission will be displayed with a strikethrough and a red exclamation mark:

TIP: To re-add the Ticket Commission, go into the Override menu and uncheck Commission.

 

Offer

To Override an existing offer applied or to add an Offer,

  1. Check the Offer box
  2. Select the Offer type from Multi-buy, Package, X for Y

  3. Select the Offer from the dropdown and click OK:

The Ticket Price will be adjusted to reflect the Offer. A red exclamation mark will be displayed next to the Ticket Price:

TIP: To remove the Offer, go into the Overrides menu and uncheck Offer.

 

Ticket Voucher Used

You can Override the Ticket Voucher used if a customer chooses not to use the voucher for a ticket purchase and would like to pay for the ticket instead.

Fixed series

You can use the Override function to manually apply a Fixed Series Price List to tickets in a Basket / Cart which otherwise wouldn’t be part of a Fixed Series.

Merchandise

With Merchandise in the Basket / Cart, you can Override:

  • Price
  • Commission
  • Offer

 

Price

To Override the Merchandise Price:

  1. Check the Price box

  2. Enter a price and click OK:

When you Override Merchandise, a red exclamation mark will be displayed next to the Price in the Basket / Cart:

TIP: To change back to the original price, go into the Override menu, uncheck Price and click OK.

 

Commission

When selling Merchandise, you can waive the Postage and Packaging charge applied in the Merchandise setup. This is added to the Basket / Cart as Commission.

It isn’t possible to change the Commission amount.

To Override Merchandise commission:

  1. Check the Commission box

  2. Uncheck Charge? Click OK:

The Merchandise Commission will be displayed with a strikethrough and a red exclamation mark:

TIP: To re-add the Merchandise Commission, go into the Override menu and uncheck Commission.

 

Offer

You can Override the Offer applied to Merchandise in the Basket / Cart, for example to remove an Offer or apply an alternative Offer.

TIP: The Offer Override applies to Package Offers only. You can only apply an Offer which contains the same Merchandise.

To Override an existing Offer,

  1. Check the Offer box
  2. Select Package

  3. Select the Offer or select No offer. Click OK:

In the following example, an Offer has been automatically applied to reduce the price of Merchandise by 33%:

When the Offer is Overridden, a red exclamation mark will be displaced next to the Price:

In this example, the Offer has been removed from the Basket / Cart.

TIP: To reverse the Offer Override, go into the Overrides menu and uncheck Offer.

 

Memberships

With a Membership in the Basket / Cart, you can Override:

  • Benefit Amount (for Memberships which include a Benefit / Goods and Services)
  • Price
  • Period

Donations and Gift Vouchers

It isn’t possible to Override Donations and Gift Vouchers. If you attempt to Override Donations or Gift Vouchers, you’ll see a pop up ‘You cannot override items that are not tickets, memberships or merchandise items:
