Scanning tickets enables you to manage capacity, attendance and access control. When scanning tickets you'll also be able to view customer information. For example, if a customer is a member or has any access requirements.
To scan tickets, you'll need one or more ticket scanners. This article explains how to order ticket scanners for your organization. You will also find information to help you decide which scanners to choose.

Choosing a Ticket Scanner
Spektrix works with the following manufacturers of ticket scanners: Saveo, Zebra, Janam and Linea Pro.
Consider the following when deciding upon which ticket scanner is best for your organization:
- Whether you want to use a ticket scanner with your own Android or Apple device
- Whether you want to use the scanner indoors with Wi-Fi connectivity or outdoors with a 5G or 4G connection
Saveo Ticket Scanners
The following Saveo ticket scanners are available to purchase through Stimare:

Saveo BOLT S12D/Z12D
The Saveo BOLT measures 5.71" in length, 3.35" in width and 4.13"cm in depth.
The Saveo BOLT requires additional hardware (not supplied) to operate. The Saveo BOLT connects to a mobile device using Bluetooth or wired connection. -
Saveo Pocket 2D
The Saveo Pocket 2D measures 3.18" in length, 1.98" in width and 0.79" in depth.
The Saveo Pocket 2D requires additional hardware (not supplied) to operate. The Saveo Pocket 2D connects to a mobile device using Bluetooth, or a PC using a wired or wireless connection. -
Saveo CT58
The CT58 measures 6.10" in length, 2.79" in width and 2.67" in depth. The CT58 is an all-in-one device, no additional hardware is needed.
If you are connecting a Saveo BOLT S12D/Z12D to an Apple device with a lightning connector (wired connection only), you may need to order a cable kit add-on. This must be purchased as part of the initial ordering process.
The cable kit add-on (SCF003-KIT) includes:
- SCUSBC: 1 x Premium USB Type-C cable
- SCF003: 1 x Flex-Protect Lightning device cable
TIP: For Apple devices with a USB-C connector, use the USB-C to Micro USB flex cable supplied with the Saveo BOLT.
Zebra Ticket Scanners
The following Zebra ticket scanners are available to purchase from SSE Technologies:

Zebra TC22
The Zebra TC22 has Wi-Fi connectivity, and measures 6.50" in length, 3.0" in width and 0.49" in depth The Zebra TC22 is best used indoors with a stable Wi-Fi connection.

Zebra TC27
The Zebra TC27 has Wi-Fi, 5G and 4G connectivity, and measures 6.50" in length, 3.0" in width and 0.49" in depth. The Zebra TC27’s 5G and 4G connection means it can be used for outdoor events, or indoors with Wi-Fi.
Zebra TC22 and TC27 scanners have built-in connectivity, so do not require a mobile phone to operate.
TIP: The Zebra TC22 and TC27 Ticket Scanners replace the Zebra TC21 and TC26 which are no longer available to purchase. The TC21 and TC26 will be supported until December 31st 2027.
Janam Ticket Scanners
Spektrix works with the Janam XT40 ticket scanner. You can view more information by reading the Janam XT40 datasheet.
- The Janam XT40 has Wi-Fi connectivity, and measures 5.98" in length, 2.99" in width, and 0.70" in depth.
Linea Pro Rugged Ticket Scanner
The Linea Pro Rugged for iPhone 13/14 combines a ticket scanner with an iPhone 13/14 phone case. It available in the US and Canada only.
You can view the Linea Pro Rugged for iPhone 13/14 on the LINEAPRO Store website.
TIP: The Linea Pro Rugged for iPhone 13/14 doesn't come with any additional hardware. You’ll need to provide your own iPhone 13 or 14.
Only the standard iPhone 13 and 14 will fit into the scanner case. The iPhone 13 mini, Pro, Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are not compatible.
- The Linea Pro Rugged for iPhone 13/14 measures 6.73" in height, 3.14" in width and 1.10" in depth.
Placing an Order
Once you have chosen your preferred make and model, Spektrix users in the US and Canada can purchase ticket scanners directly from the following suppliers:
- Saveo: Contact Stimare by email or call 1-720-257-7070
- Zebra, Janam and Linea Pro: Contact SSE Technologies by email or call 1-800-729-2444 and choose option 4
When ordering Zebra or Janam ticket scanners through SSE Technologies you'll be asked for the following wireless network and Spektrix test account information for your organization.
TIP: If you're unsure on where to find the information in the following sections, please ask your IT Team.
Wireless Network Information
The information you’ll need to provide will differ depending on whether you’re using Static IP addresses or DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol).
You can find out if you’re using Static IP or DHCP by following these steps:
- Click the Windows/Start button in your taskbar or press the windows key on your keyboard. Type CMD.
- You’ll see a Command Prompt window. Type ipconfig/all and press Enter.

In the results returned, look for DHCP Enabled. If this is set to Yes, you’re using DHCP (Dynamic IP Addresses). If it’s set to No, you’re using a Static IP address:
Once you’ve established whether you’re using a Static IP address or DHCP, click the relevant tab below for the information you’ll send to SSE Technologies.

Static IP addresses
SSE Technologies will ask for the following information:
- The Static IP address(es) you’re using
- Subnet Mask
- Gateway
- Primary & Secondary DNS
- Wi-Fi Name (SSID)
- Encryption type (WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc)
- Wi-Fi passphrase (password)

DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol)
SSE Technologies will ask for the following information:
- Wi-Fi Name (SSID)
- Encryption type (WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc)
- Wi-Fi passphrase (password)
Wi-Fi network name and passphrase
When you connect to a Wi-Fi network, you’ll need the name of the Wi-Fi network (often referred to as SSID), passphrase (password) and encryption type.

Wi-Fi name and passphrase
When you connect to a Wi-Fi network, you’ll need the name of the Wi-Fi network (often referred to as SSID) and passphrase (password).
To find your Wi-Fi name and passphrase, follow these steps:
- Make sure you're connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- In the taskbar on your PC, right-click the Wi-Fi icon, and then select Open Network and Internet Settings.
- Under Advanced Network Settings, select Network and Sharing Center.
- Next to Connections, select your Wi-Fi network name.
- Select Wireless Properties.
- Select the Security tab.
- Select Show Characters. If you see a popup asking Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? Click Yes to continue.
- Your passphrase will now be displayed in the Network Security Key field. Make a note of it, but do not change it.

Wi-Fi encryption
Wi-Fi encryption is a crucial aspect of securing your wireless network. It is a method of protecting your Wi-Fi network from unauthorized access by encrypting the data transmitted over the network.
There are several types of encryption available. Click the box below for help finding your encryption type.
To find the encryption type for your Wi-Fi, follow these steps:
- Find the Wi-Fi icon in your taskbar and click on it
- Underneath your Wi-Fi connection, click Properties
- Scroll down and under Properties, look for the Wi-Fi details
- Look for your Wi-Fi Security Type - this is your encryption type
Spektrix scanning details
Once you have the information for your wireless network, the final step is to pass on scanning information to SSE Technologies to set up the scanner:
- URL for the Scanning Interface.

A test user account for your Spektrix system (please
do not use your own or a colleagues account). Create
an
account for testing purposes only.
WARNING: Do not send any passwords as plain text in an email. Use an encryption service or password protection tool. Speak to your IT team for further advice.
- Sample show tickets in [PDF] or [jpeg] format.
- Date devices are needed.
SSE Technologies will use the information you provide to complete the setup of Zebra and Janam ticket scanners.
Once you’ve switched the scanner on and entered your Spektrix username and password you’ll be able to scan straightaway.
The scanners are locked down, the only settings you'll be able to change are the Wi-Fi details.
TIP: By ordering through SSE Technologies, you'll have access to their support service. If you have trouble scanning, SSE Technologies will be your first point of contact.
