Door sales, also known as on-the-door sales, quick sales or walk-ups, are ticket sales which generally take place at the Box Office, usually immediately before the start of a performance.
Door sales can be used to process sales quickly in situations where there is time pressure or a queue.
When you choose to process a door sale, you prioritise the speed of the sale over collecting customer data. This means that you won’t be able to trace this ticket back to the customer, or contact them with any information about future events.
Although it is possible, we don’t recommend that you sell tickets for events in the future using the door sale method. This is because if you don’t collect customer data, then you can’t contact these customers if an event is cancelled or rescheduled.
TIP: Looking for an alternative way to manage door sales queues? Place QR codes around your box office with a direct link to your Event booking page. Prompting customers to self serve can help to reduce queues.
