In this article, we’ll take you through how you can configure preferences in the Settings Interface which affect your system’s behaviour in the Sales Interface. These settings determine behaviour when performing various actions in the Sales Interface, for example, viewing Events, printing and payment limits.
TIP: The settings in this article are global settings. Changing these settings will affect system behaviour for all users of the Sales Interface.

Before you read this article, you should be familiar with:
How do I access the Settings Interface?
To access the Settings Interface and change settings you’ll need the Settings Administrator Role. If you don’t have this Role, ask the Settings Administrator in your organisation to add this Role to your User Account.
To go to the Settings Interface:

Click the Control Panel icon (bottom left of Spektrix):

Click Settings:
- Then, go to Configuration > System Setup
- Within System Setup, you’ll see the settings below. Click the link to take you to that section of the article:
- Automated Emails
- Basket / Cart
- Credits & Commissions
- Event Search
- Printing
- Payments
- Reservations
- Ticket Printing
Automated Emails
Within Automated Emails, you can decide whether to send an email when a new Customer Record or online account is created:
- Send customers an email when a user creates their account in the Sales or Opportunities Interface: Customers will receive an email confirming a new Customer Record has been created in the Sales Interface.
- Send customers an email when they create an account themselves: Customers will receive an email confirming a new online account has been created.
You can edit new account emails and add custom styling. Take a look at Account Emails for further information.
Order Confirmation in the Sales Interface
Order Confirmation emails can be set to send when a Sales User or Sales Administrator creates or modifies and then confirms an Order.
Select one of the following:
- Automatically send customers an order confirmation
- Prompt users to decide when to send an order confirmation
- Never send customers an order confirmation or prompt users to decide
TIP: An Order Confirmation will always be sent when a customer selects E-ticket delivery.
Basket / Cart
Within Basket / Cart, you’ll see the following options:
- Display pre-payment panel in the basket / cart: Toggle this switch on to display the pre-payment panel. This allows users to can add Donations, record responses to the Customer Questionnaire and enter Order Attributes.
- Display an order summary on order confirmation: Choose whether an Order Summary will be displayed when an Order is confirmed.
Group Booking Mode
When selling groups of Tickets, you can enable Group Booking mode. Group Booking Mode combines Tickets together as a single line in the Basket / Cart and Order Summary. You can also specify the minimum number of Tickets you want to be considered a group.
- Enable Group Booking Mode: toggle on to enable Group Booking mode.

Number of tickets to prompt for:enter the minimum number of tickets you’d like to consider as a group.

Redirection after Order Confirmation
After an Order is confirmed, you can choose where in the Sales Interface a Sales user is directed to. This applies to Orders confirmed using Phone, Counter and Web Sales Channels.
TIP: When using Counter Quick, the Sales user is taken back to the Basket / Cart, ready for the next sale.
Select one of the following:
- Return the user to the Customers page
- Return the user to the Events page
- Do nothing

Order Summary header & footer
When confirming an Order, you can display additional text in the header and footer of the Order Summary:
This text will be displayed to Sales Users only on all Orders confirmed in the Sales Interface. For example:
Printing after Order Confirmation
After an Order is confirmed, you can select whether you want to set Print Now or Print Later as the default option for each Sales Channel:
Set the default behaviour for each Sales Channel by choosing from the dropdown.

TIP: You can choose whether to print now or later on each Order processed in the Sales Interface. Select Confirm & Print or Confirm & Print Later.
Credits & Commissions
Within Credits & Commissions, you can manage Credit Expiry and whether commission is returned when an Order is refunded.
- Default limit on future Gift Voucher delivery: Enter the maximum amount of time (in months) a voucher can be emailed after the purchase date.
When selling Gift Vouchers and using Account credit as a payment method, you can choose a default expiry date:
- Default Gift Voucher Expiry: Choose an expiry period in months, or set vouchers to Never expire.
- Default Account Credit Expiry: Choose an expiry period in months, or set Account Credit to Never expire.

Commissions
When Sales Users process returns, you can choose the default behaviour for any commissions that have been charged.
- Return on transactions that include commission: Choose whether to return, do not return, or prompt the Sales User to decide each time.
TIP: This choice can be overridden in the Sales Interface.

Event Search
You can change how Events are displayed in the Sales Interface by changing the following options:
- Default to searching for events [number] days in the future: enter the number of days that Events in range are displayed by default.
Default to displaying events as:
- A list of Events
- A list of Event Instances
- A calendar view of Event Instances
These settings are permanent unless changed. To temporarily change the settings for your logged in session, a Sales User can select the display and search criteria from Events in the Sales Interface:
TIP: When you next log into Spektrix, the Event display will return to the default setting selected in the Settings Interface.

Printing
Batch printing lets you select unprinted tickets across multiple Orders and Instances and print everything at once. You can set the default number of Tickets in a Batch and configure the order in which Tickets print.
Default number in a batch
Batches can potentially include hundreds or even thousands of tickets, which can be too much to print in one go. To make sure batches are of manageable sizes, you can set the default number of Orders to be included in each Batch.
When printing a batch of orders
You can choose whether you want the Orders in each batch to print alphabetically, or in reverse order.
- Order the tickets by the customer’s last name in ascending order (A-Z)
- Order the tickets by the customer’s last name in descending order (Z-A)

Payments
When taking payments in the Sales Interface and online, there is a payment limit up to a specified amount. Payments over this amount will be declined.
To increase the limit, for example, if you’re expecting a large Donation, contact our Support team who will be able to confirm your current limit and increase to cover any large transactions.
Our Support team can increase the limits for:
- Sales interface max payment
- Website max payment
You can request to change these limits at any time.
Reservations
Within Reservations, you can set to release Reservations automatically, and set the Reservation Timeout period.
Automatically release reservations on timeout
To automatically release reservations when their timeout period has been reached, toggle on the setting:
Default reservation timeout
You can set the default Reservation timeout period to:
- After [number] Hours
- After [number] Days
- At [time] on [date]
These settings are relative to when the Reservation is confirmed.
TIP: You can change the Reservation Timeout on a per-order basis in the Sales Interface. Read Reservation Timeout for further information.
Ticket Printing
You can choose which receipts print as part of a sale. These settings can only be changed by getting in touch with our Support team.
- Print merchant receipts as part of a sale: When taking a Chip & PIN / Chip / EFTPOS payment, you can choose to print a merchant receipt to retain for your own records.
Merchant receipts are printed out on ticket stock and require a Document Design which can only be edited by our Support team. Read Customer Receipts, Cover Slips and Address Labels for further information.
- Print receipts for merchandise as part of a sale: To print a Merchandise receipt, you’ll need to create a Ticket Design for Merchandise. Follow the steps in The Ticket Design Tool - How to Create a New Ticket Design.
